In the competitive world of forklift repair, Capitol Forklift LLC stands out as a dynamic, independently-owned company with a personal touch. At the helm of this successful venture is Adam Swiger, a seasoned expert with over a decade in the forklift industry and 20 years in the broader mechanical field.
Swiger’s career trajectory has been anything but typical. Before founding Capitol Forklift, he honed his skills working for major dealerships, including Alliance Material Handling, a Crown dealer, and CFE Equipment, and Hyundai and Nissan dealership. His experience at these companies gave him a solid foundation, but an entrepreneurial spark was always present. In fact, from 2010 to 2015, Swiger owned an auto repair shop, a venture he ultimately sold to return to the forklift industry in 2015. “Customers were calling me directly anyway,” Swiger reflects, noting how he was already becoming a go-to resource for clients in Northern Virginia even before launching his own business.
Today, Capitol Forklift LLC remains a one-man operation, though Swiger is considering expanding. “I’m thinking about hiring,” he says, but for now, he enjoys the flexibility that comes with being independent. “The best part is the freedom to do jobs and do repairs the way I want to do them,” Swiger emphasizes, a sentiment that drives many independent business owners.
As Capitol Forklift LLC continues to grow, Swiger remains dedicated to providing top-tier service to his customers, while enjoying the independence that comes with running his own business. Adam buys parts from Intella and relies on Intella’s large product selection and quick shipping to help customers in the Washington DC/Virginia/Maryland area. He’s based in Cross Junction, Virginia.
